YOU SAID, WE DID

"Increase opportunities to engage youth."

The Youth Wellbeing Network has engaged with youth in various ways for youth feedback on events, programs, and resources.

Some engagement opportunities include:

  • Teen TakeOver feedback survey, asking what youth liked and disliked about Teen TakeOver and how we can improve in the future.

  • Youth input for summer events hosted by the Youth Wellbeing Network.

  • Hired youth assistants and compensated youth participants to help facilitate feedback for the Yarmouth Youth Helping Tree.

We strive to continue engaging youth in the future through surveys, conversations, and skill building opportunities!

"Consider communication methods to promote activities and inform youth of available opportunities."

We are still in the trial stage of this one, although we have made some progress!

We are trying to meet youth where they are at! We have started a TikTok account where we will be posting and promoting various events, programs, and opportunities for youth in Yarmouth. Follow us @youthwellbeingnetwork!

We are also using this website as a youth hub to find all things youth in Yarmouth! Check out the programs & events page

and the volunteer/training opportunities page to see how you can participate!

Working Cafe

"More avenues and space for youths voices to be heard."

We are implementing more ways for YOUR voice to be heard!

  • Give us your feedback now by using this feedback form.

  • We will be at Teen TakeOver a few times this year asking for your input on what you would like to see happen at Teen TakeOver and in the community!

  • A Youth Engagement Summit is coming in April 2025! Stay tuned for more information about how you can get involved!

"Better promotion and access to existing services."

For the past year, we have been working on creating the Yarmouth Youth Helping Tree to increase awareness about local resources in the community. You can access the Youth Helping Tree here!

"More recreational spaces designed for youth."

In result of this feedback, Teen TakeOver is now taking place at Mariners on Main every other week!

We are also working on additional programming to fill the gap and have a space for youth to go every Friday! More information on Anchor Youth Space coming soon!

Socializing Outdoors

"Safe spaces in community to talk."

New this year, Teen TakeOver will launch the "Purple Room" hosted by Aideans Place, creating a safe, quiet place for youth to go during Teen TakeOver. This room will be staffed with Aideans Place staff and volunteers to ensure youth have someone to talk to when needed.

Teenagers

"Avoid working in silos."

After the May 2023 conversation, the Youth Wellbeing Network was formed to avoid this exact statement! Since then, the Youth Wellbeing Network continues to meet monthly to discuss what is happening, what needs to happen, and ways we can work together to fill gaps for youth in the community.
